This fine, approx 0.65mm mercerised* 100% cotton cord is wound and supplied by weight on cones of approx. 500gms(approx 2200m). The lead-time on this tiem can be up to 12 weeks from order.

A fine, approx 0.65mm mercerised* 100% cotton cord. The item is wound and supplied by weight on cones of approx 500gms(approx 2200m)  Bleached, white & coloured cords are generally regarded as being "pre-shrunk" as they have already undergone a washing & drying process. However this is NO guarantee that they will not consolidate further.  Please conduct trials before proceeding to manufacture.

Mercerisation is generally accredited to be invented by John Mercer in Lancashire (UK) during the 1840's. It is a process of chemically treating cotton fibre. This generally has three main effects. It strengthens the fibres, it swells the fibre which produces a more "reflective"(gives it a "sheen") item and it produces an item which accepts dyes more readily.
